Forskolin
Biogems
DESCRIPTION
Forskolin activates the enzyme adenylyl cyclase and increases intracellular levels of cyclic AMP (cAMP). It has vasodilator and hypotensive properties and can be used to induce neuronal differentiation in stem cells. In combination with other small molecules, it is also reported to be utilized in the chemical reprogramming of embryonic fibroblasts to induced pluripotent stem cells.
