MUG (4-MU-glcUA; 4-Methylumbelliferyl-β-D-glucuronic acid dihydrate), also known as MUGlcU, is a fluorogenic β-glucuronidase substrate that releases the blue fluorescent 4-methyl-7-hydroxycoumarinon enzymatic hydrolysis.
