Anti-Vitamin K-dependent protein C antibody

Biospes

DESCRIPTION

Vitamin K-dependent protein C, also called Protein C(PROC), is a vitamin K-dependent plasma glycoprotein. The PROC gene contains 9 exons and spans about 11 kb. Protein C synthesis occurs in the liver, it is a major component in anticoagulation in the human body. Activated protein C(APC) has been studied as way of treating lung injury, also has been considered for use in improving patient outcome in cases of ischemic stroke, a medical emergency in which arterial blockage deprives a region of brain of oxygen, causing tissue death.
