T 0901317 is a potent agonist for the high affinity liver X receptor, which up-regulates ABC1 gene expression. It is reported that it can be used to lower cholesterol levels in serum and liver, to suppress the proliferation of breast and prostate cancer cells, and to decrease amyloid beta production.
