Like Ahlstrom 238, this grade is ideal for use as wicks in protein or nucleic acid blotting to provide a uniform flow of buffer through the gel to the transfer membrane in a blotting sandwich. Ahlstrom 237 is also suited for electrophoresis and the separation of inorganic compounds.
• Paragraph 2: Thick papers are 100% cotton grades that are used in chromatography techniques where solutes are heavily loaded. Thick papers are ideal grades for electrophoresis techniques.
