mouse monoclonal IgG1; VDAC1 Antibody (B-6) is an IgG1 κ mouse monoclonal VDAC1 antibody (also designated Voltage dependent anion channel 1 antibody, PORIN antibody, or VDAC-1 antibody) that detects the VDAC1 protein of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. VDAC1 Antibody (B-6) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-VDAC1 antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-VDAC1 antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Adenine nucleotide translocator (ANT) and the voltage-dependent anion-selective channel proteins 1 and 2 (VDAC1 and VDAC2) are components of the permeability transition pore complex (PTPC) of the mitochondrial inner and outer membranes, respectively. Formation of PTPCs, the subsequent dissipation of mitochondrial inner membrane potential and release of cytochrome c through the outer mitochondrial membrane are critical events in the early stages of apoptosis. Bax, a proapoptotic protein, has been shown to act upon ANT to induce the dissipation of mitochondrial inner membrane potential.
