Anti-Fractin Antibody

PhosphoSolutions

DETAILS

  • Form: Neat Serum
  • Gene: fragment of Actin
  • Host: Rabbit
  • Rrid: AB_2492097
  • Type: Primary Antibody
  • Buffer: Neat Serum
  • Target: Fractin
  • Isotype: IgG
  • Storage: Recommended that the undiluted antibody be aliquoted into smaller working volumes (10-30 uL/vial depending on usage) upon arrival and stored long term at -20° C or -80° C, while keeping a working aliquot stored at 4° C for short term. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Stable for at least 1 year.
  • Shipping: Blue Ice
  • Synonyms: Fragment of actin, actin cleavage product
  • Clonality: Polyclonal
  • Immunogen: Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues from the C-terminal region of the 32 kDa actin fragment.
  • Expiration: After date of receipt, stable for at least 1 year at -20°C.
  • Specificity: Specific for endogenous levels of the ~32 kDa fractin protein. Shows no reactivity toward intact actin. There is often a ladder of smaller bands in cells or culture or in vivo preparations due to further degradation by other proteases. In IHC the antibody detects the processes and cell bodies of degenerating neurons and plaque-associated microglia in Alzheimer's disease.
  • Applications: WB, IHC, ICC
  • Conjugate Exem: Unconjugated
  • Physical State: Liquid
  • Quality Control: Western blots performed on each lot.
  • Usage Statement: For research use only. Not intended for therapeutic or diagnostic use. Use of all products is subject to our terms and conditions, which can be viewed on our website.
  • Molecular Weight: 32
  • Production Notes: Neat Serum
  • Dilution Range Wb: 1:1000
  • Immunogen Species: Human
  • Dilution Range Icc: 1:100-1:500
  • Dilution Range Ihc: 1:50-1:1000
  • Species Reactivity: Human and Rat
  • Target Description: Fractin (fragment of actin) is a caspase-specific cleavage product of actin and serves as a novel marker of apoptosis-related events. The antibody has been shown to detect the processes and cell bodies of degenerating neurons and plaque-associated microglia in Alzheimer’s disease (Yang et al., 1998). It has recently been reported that Fractin may have a functional role in apoptotic signaling in oligodendrocytes (Schulz, R., et al., Glia, 2009, in press).

DESCRIPTION

Our Anti-Fractin primary antibody from PhosphoSolutions is rabbit polyclonal. It detects human and rat Fractin and is neat serum. It is great for use in WB, IHC, ICC.
