Cas9 Lentivirus (Hygromycin Selection)

BPS Bioscience

DESCRIPTION

Cas9 Lentivirus can be used to generate Cas9 expressing cells in almost any mammalian cell line. Cells stably expressing Cas9 can then be transduced or electroporated with sgRNA targeting a gene of interest to quickly generate knock-out cell pools or cell lines. The Cas9 Lentiviruses are replication incompetent, HIV-based VSV-G pseudo-typed lentiviral particles that are ready to be transduced into almost all types of mammalian cells, including primary and non-dividing cells. The particles contain a Cas9 gene driven by an EF1a promoter, along with a Hygromycin selection marker.

DETAILS

  • Notes: License Disclosure: Purchase of this cell line grants you with a 10-year license to use this cell line in your immediate laboratory, for research use only. This license does not permit you to share, distribute, sell, sublicense, or otherwise make the cell line available for use to other laboratories, departments, research institutions, hospitals, universities, or biotech companies. The license does not permit use of this cell line in humans or for therapeutic or drug use. The license does not permit modification of the cell line in any way. Inappropriate use or distribution of this cell line will result in revocation of the license and result in an immediate cease of sales and distribution of BPS products to your laboratory. BPS does not warrant the suitability of the cell line for any particular use, and does not accept any liability in connection with the handling or use of the cell line. Modifications of this cell line, transfer to another facility, or commercial use of the cells may require a separate license and additional fees; contact sales@bpsbioscience.com for details. • Species: S. pyogenes
  • Shiptemp: -80°C (dry ice)
  • Synonyms: Cas9 Lentivirus, CRISPR lentivirus, spCas9 lentivirus, CRISPR pseudovirus, Cas9 pseudovirion
  • Warnings: Lentiviruses are shipped with dry ice. For long term storage, it is recommended to store the lentiviruses at -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Titers can drop significantly with each freeze-thaw cycle.
  • Category: CRISPR/Lentivirus
  • Background: Cas9 (Streptococcus pyogenes CRISPR associated protein 9) is an endonuclease enzyme that, when recruited to a specific DNA sequence by the sgRNA (single guide RNA), introduces a double stranded break into the DNA. This double stranded break is repaired in mammalian cells either through Non-Homologous End Joining or Homologous Recombination. Non-Homologous End Joining often results in the deletion or insertion of several base pairs at the cut site, which, when resulting in a frameshift, causes the functional inactivation of the targeted gene.
