Resveratrol is a phenolic phytoalexin that has antioxidant properties and selective inhibits COX-1. It is reported to activate SIrtuin 1 and PGC-1alpha and increase the activity of SOD2. Resveratrol is an anti-inflmammatory and antiproliferative agent that interferes with carcinogenesis.
