Anti-Ephexin-1 (Tyr-87), Phosphospecific Antibody

PhosphoSolutions

DETAILS

  • Form: Antigen Affinity Purified
  • Gene: NGEF
  • Host: Rabbit
  • Rrid: AB_2152274
  • Type: Primary Antibody
  • Buffer: PBS + 1 mg/ml BSA, 0.05% NaN3 and 50% glycerol
  • Target: Ephexin-1 (Tyr-87)
  • Isotype: IgG
  • Storage: Storage at -20°C is recommended, as aliquots may be taken without freeze/thawing due to presence of 50% glycerol. Stable for at least 1 year at -20°C.
  • Shipping: Blue Ice
  • Synonyms: EphA, Eph, NGEF
  • Clonality: Rabbit Polyclonal
  • Immunogen: Phospho-ephexin-1 (Tyr-87) synthetic peptide (coupled to carrier protein) corresponds to amino acids surrounding tyrosine 87 in mouse ephexin-1. This sequence has significant homology to the conserved region in human and rat ephexin-1.
  • Expiration: After date of receipt, stable for at least 1 year at -20°C.
  • Specificity: The antibody detects an 80 kDa* band corresponding to ephexin-1 in Western blots of human A431 treated with pervanadate. This band is removed by alkaline phosphatase treatment.
  • Applications: WB, ICC
  • Conjugate Exem: Unconjugated
  • Physical State: Liquid
  • Quality Control: Western blots performed on each lot.
  • Usage Statement: For research use only. Not intended for therapeutic or diagnostic use. Use of all products is subject to our terms and conditions, which can be viewed on our website.

  • Target Description: The Eph family of receptor tyrosine kinases, and their ephrin ligands, are important for cell positioning and morphogenesis during development. EphA4 receptor can inhibit axon outgrowth and has roles in regulating axon projections during neural development. Eph signaling pathways require both receptor kinase activity and activation of Rho-GTPase guanine nucleotide-exchange factors (GEFs). Ephexin-1 is a Dbl family GEF that may be important for regulating Rho GTPase activity downstream of EphA4/FGFR complexes. EphA4 activation leads to Src kinase phosphorylation of Tyr-87 in ephexin-1, which enhances activation of RhoA, but not Rac1 or Cdc42. In addition, ephexin-1 also binds FGFRs, and is phosphorylated at Tyr-87, as well as other tyrosine sites.
