DESCRIPTION
mouse monoclonal IgG2b; CMC1 Antibody (A-3) is an IgG2b κ mouse monoclonal CMC1 antibody (also designated CMC1 antibody) that detects the CMC1 protein of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA. CMC1 Antibody (A-3) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-CMC1 antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-CMC1 antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CMC1 (COX assembly mitochondrial protein 1 homolog) is a 106 amino acid protein that localizes to the mitochondrion with MT-CO1. CMC1 is required for mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase (COX) assembly and respiration. CMC1 is known to bind copper and may be involved in the trafficking of copper to COX and SOD1. The CMC1 gene is conserved in chimpanzee, dog, cow, mouse, chicken, zebrafish, fruit fly and mosquito, and maps to human chromosome 3p24.1. Chromosome 3 is made up of about 214 million bases encoding over 1,100 genes. Notably, there is a chemokine receptor gene cluster and a variety of human cancer related loci on chromosome 3. Key tumor suppressing genes on chromosome 3 encode apoptosis mediator RASSF1, cell migration regulator HYAL1 and angiogenesis suppressor SEMA3B. Marfan Syndrome, porphyria, von Hippel-Lindau syndrome, osteogenesis imperfecta and Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease are a few of the numerous genetic diseases associated with chromosome 3.
