Adenoviruses Labs

Labs Explorer on December 14, 2017

Adenoviruses are viruses that causes a large range of sickness: from a common cold to organ failures. They are showing several interesting properties. Being about 100 nm large, adenoviruses represent the largest viruses with no envelope, i.e. an outer lipid bilayer. Its structure allows the virus to attach the host cell and be transported through the endosome. Adenoviruses can replicate in a vertebrate cells. They use the host’s ADN replication system to copy their linear dsDNA genome.
