CDD’s 10th Anniversary Community Meeting: Celebrating 10 Years of Collaborative Drug Discovery

Rachel Tsui on March 6, 2014

Collaborative Drug Discovery (CDD) is hosting their users and community meeting at the UCSF Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco on Friday April 4, 2014.

The theme of the conference will be “Modern Drug Research Informatics Applications to CNS, Infectious, Neglected, Rare, and Commercial Diseases”. Scientist’s own Kevin Lustig will be one of the panel speakers at this conference. Other notable speakers include Dr. Christopher Lipinski who will be moderation of a session on distributed drug discovery focused on research collaborations – including CDD’s Gates Foundation TB consortium (involving academic, non-profit, and government labs collaborating with 7 big pharmaceutical companies). Additionally, CDD’s Dr. Sylvia Ernst will moderate the commercial biotech channel focused on internal and external biotech/pharma workflows.

In addition to the exciting talks, there will be technical training for all levels and including advanced topics such as integration of the CDD Vault with popular tools like Pipeline Pilot, KNIME and Excel. CDD Vault is a hosted database solution for secure management and sharing of chemical and biological data. It allows researchers to intuitively organize chemical structures and biological study data, and collaborate with internal or external partners through an easy to use web interface. Besides project management and promoting collaborative data storage, CDD Vault also includes an easy to use interface for both drug discovery data mining and chemical structure information. This software allows for efficient and effective storing and managing of data for a massive number of projects, saving time and energy for researchers to focus towards breakthrough discoveries.
