The Berlin Center for Epidemiology and Health Research (ZEG Berlin: acronym for the German name: Zentrum für Epidemiologie & Gesundheitsforschung) was founded in 1990.
It has its roots in the first Epidemiology Research Centre for non-communicable diseases in Germany, i.e. the founding key persons of ZEG and many employees had rich experience in non-communicable disease epidemiology and prevention since the late 1960. Currently, the main focus of the institute is research in Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Surveillance.
ZEG and ENCePP
We are a partner centre of the ENCePP scientific network which is coordinated by the European Medicines Agency. We are dedicated to excellence in research by adhering to the ENCePP Guide on Methodological Standards and promoting scientific independence and transparency. We register studies in the ENCePP E-Register of Studies, a publicly accessible resource for the registration of pharmacoepidemiological and pharmacovigilance studies.
