The Vienna Biocenter Core Facilities GmbH (VBCF) is a publicly funded non-profit research institute, situated at the Vienna Biocenter. VBCF was founded in 2010 as a limited liability company (GmbH) according to Austrian law. VBCF’s stakeholders are:

Campus Vienna Biocenter Association (50%)
Max F. Perutz Laboratories GmbH (25%)
IMBA – Institute of Molecular Biotechnology (15%)
GMI – Gregor Mendel Institute of Molecular Plant Biology (10%)
The operation of VBCF is funded by the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy (bm.wfw) and the City of Vienna, by fees charged for delivered services and by additional research grants.

VBCF operates 11 scientific core facilities and the shared Child Care Center of the Vienna Biocenter as shown in the organization chart below.
