The Containment Level 3 (CL3) Laboratory Core Facility is a major infrastructure initiative of the University of Ottawa offering sophisticated laboratory space for research on infectious agents of Risk Group 3. In view of promoting collaborative partnership, this biocontainment laboratory is available not only to uOttawa Investigators, but also to external research groups.

State-of-the-art engineering controls, design and rigorous standard operating procedures allow for optimal safety of laboratory personnel, the community and the environment. Divided in two individually controlled suites of 165 m² each, it has the capacity of accommodating several research groups simultaneously.
