Funded since 1977 as a shared facility of the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, the TPSF operates as a prospective service to provide remnant human tissue specimens to members of the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center. The TPSF provides remnant human tissue specimens from routine surgical resections and autopsies. Specimens include normal, benign, malignant, or diseased specimens and can be provided to investigators fresh, in media of choice, frozen, in RNAlater, in fixative, or processed as paraffin blocks and/or slides. Frozen aliquots of fluid (serum, plasma, buffy coat, urine, saliva) are also available.
If you are interested in remnant human tissue for research, please read the TPSF POLICIES and then complete an application so we may be able to serve you.
