The Institute of Chemical Technology (ITQ) is a joint research center created in 1990 by the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) based at the UPV Campus.
ITQ is a reference center in the field of catalysis, new materials (especially zeolites) and photochemistry. Thanks to its excellent level of fundamental and already oriented multidisciplinary research, ITQ has the capacity to act at interfaces between disciplines, thus having a wide flexibility and rapid adaptation to new lines and challenges.
It has specialized human resources as well as state-of-the-art facilities to develop research in the field of chemical and new materials technologies. It is made up of more than two hundred professionals from around the world divided into: Research Professors, Researchers and Scientific Scientists of the CSIC, Professors and Lecturers of the UPV, Guest Professors, senior technicians, administrative and support staff, as well as scholarship holders and contractors Pre and post doctoral.
The lines of work develop them through projects of National Plan, European, regional and financed with own funds. In addition, ITQ derives part of its funding through R & D contracts with multinational companies around the world. Finally ITQ also finances part of its research thanks to the revenues from the exploitation of patents developed in the Institute and licensed to companies that market them.
The ITQ also offers a suitable environment for the training of technical and research personnel, in the preparation of theses, end-of-course projects and postdoctoral stays.
