Company Type:
Small Business (1-10M TTM Revenue)

The Taplin Biological Mass Spectrometry Facility opened in February 2001 as a core facility for the analysis of proteins and peptides by mass spectrometry. The facility is focused on serving the needs of investigators at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and all the Harvard affiliated Institutions. These include the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Children’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, among others. Our priority is to serve the HMS and its affiliated hospitals but we are capable of serving outside universities and institutions.

We are currently accepting coomassie, silver and sypro ruby stained gel bands and spots for sequencing and coomassie bands and spots for protein modification analyses exclusively by microcapillary LC/MS/MS techniques. Please see Guidelines for Sample Submission for more information and instructions on preparation of SDS-PAGE gel bands/spots. The facility utilizes Orbitrap mass spectrometers from Thermo Scientific for high throughput analyses of gel bands/spots.
