PriMed has extensive expertise and significant experience in non-human primate research, as well as identifying and developing specialized animal models of human disease, helping global biomedical research community solve challenges in Metabolic disease, Eye disease, Cardiovascular diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, NAFLD/NASH, Autoimmune diseases and Kidney disease. PriMed has well-established multi-modality imaging capabilities and extensive expertise in developing and applying imaging biomarkers for drug discovery and development with 11 different imaging modalities available for studies.

PriMed’s research center has (n=~3000) rhesus/cynomolgous macaques with clearly pedigree and has set up a unique sizable (middle age/aged., equivalent to 40~70 years in human) NHP population (n= ~1500) with spontaneous metabolic, eye disease, cardiovascular, Alzheimer’s disease phenotypes that translate well into clinical observations. PriMed has a plasma/tissue biobank and a database of over 7 year’s historical clinical data for all monkeys, including semiannual metabolic examination and treatment record.
