Sahlgrenska Biobank is a center of excellence for biobanking issues to help with the collection, handling and storage of biobank samples.

Biobank is a collaboration between Västra Götaland (VGR) and the Sahlgrenska Academy at Göteborg University (GU). Sahlgrenska biobank is located at Sahlgrenska University Hospital and is part of the Gothia Forum.

Practical support and coordination
Our mission is to promote the success of research and care through practical support in the handling of samples and coordination of all the biobanks currently registered under the principals Västra Götaland and Göteborg University.

Sahlgrenska biobank also has the task of organizational bring long-term responsible for all sample collections within the Sahlgrenska Academy at University of Gothenburg and Sahlgrenska University Hospital in VGR to support clinical research. Read more about the structural transformation
