Pebble Biotechnology Laboratories is a state-of-the-art CRO facility that provides pig and human living organ systems as an alternative to in vivo. We accelerate the development of therapies and medical devices from concept through to regulatory approval. The LIVING-ORGAN system involves attaching entire porcine organs to a clinical life-support system which mimics vascular anatomy, so physiological blood supply and biochemistry is restored. This enables accurate drug and device evaluation including safety, efficacy, biodistribution, metabolism-excretion, and off-target effects. This holistic assay is critical in understanding how a therapy will interact, but without the need for regulatory or ethical approvals, meaning the development pathway is significantly de-risked and accelerated.

Our approach does not require animal licenses, allowing for rapid, non-reportable, iterate-fail-repeat-experiments that accelerate the development cycle of a therapy. This is a stepwise improvement to small animal models that rarely translate to humans, and costs also considerably lower compared to in-vivo porcine experiments. We are now looking for collaborations with SMEs, academics, medical device manufacturers, and big pharma, to use our platform to evaluate novel therapies and innovations at the preclinical stage in a clinically relevant setting.
