Pear Bio is a computational biology company that has developed a functional precision medicine platform to guide therapy choice in cancer patients, based on growing patients’ tumors in a lab and performing therapy dosing on parallel microtumors to assess response.

The platform uses organ-on-a-chip and computer vision to measure cancer progression over time. Pear Bio cultures patient tumor samples and tests potential treatment options and combinations ex vivo. A proprietary computer vision/ML pipeline finds image-based spatial biomarkers in time-course 3D microscopy data of the patient tumor cultures.
