Mission
The Dotter Interventional Institute was established by the Oregon State Board of Higher Education in April 1990, as an independent, freestanding division of the Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine. The Institute was charged with developing a multidisciplinary program in interventional therapy with emphasis on interventional education, research, and patient care.
Education:
Educate nurses, technologists and physicians in selected techniques of vascular and interventional therapy.
Educate referring physicians, and other healthcare providers and insurers concerning the cost effective advantages of minimally invasive interventional therapy.
Educate the public regarding the availability and advantages of minimally invasive interventional therapy, especially those related to minimizing costs and decreasing time of recovery.
Research:
Develop new and improve existing clinical tools and techniques in interventional therapy at the Dotter Interventional Institute Research Laboratory.
Patient Care:
Provide the highest quality interventional treatment to patients in an environment that ensures their comfort and well-being.
Serve as a regional and national resource by advising other interventionalists, and by accepting patient referrals in the management of difficult interventional cases.
