Purina built one of the first quality testing laboratories in the animal feed industry in 1916 at 8th and Gratiot in St. Louis. Today, NP Analytical Laboratories continues a 90-year tradition of providing state-of-the-art testing and consulting to support Research, Product Development, and Product Quality. Our scientific staff is focused on meeting the unique challenges of the food and feed industries. Together, we can advance knowledge of food science and animal nutrition and provide tools for developing and maintaining quality products in the marketplace.
Our chemists and microbiologists are recognized industry leaders in food and feed testing and have pioneered techniques for analysis of vitamins, amino acids, carbohydrates, and preservatives. The laboratory offers comprehensive testing services for nutrients, contaminants, microbial pathogens, and quality indicators. NPAL also maintains a broad network of contacts with other leading laboratories, to quickly identify cost-effective options for specialized testing not available in our laboratory. We work closely with research and quality teams to develop proprietary test methods that keep NPAL at the forefront of testing laboratories.
