Nova Medical Testing Inc. (NovaMT) was founded in 2017 as a spin-off company from the University of Alberta. It is a Canadian-based technology company with a focus on developing mass spectrometry based analytical solutions for medical and health diagnostic applications, including targeted diagnostic-panel analysis and global biomarker analysis. It is based in the Edmonton Research Park, Alberta, Canada.

NovaMT provides services on quantitative metabolomics analysis and lipidomics analysis. Using High-Performance Chemical Isotope Labeling (HP-CIL) combined with high-resolution liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS), we strive to generate the highest-quality results for each metabolomics project with a fast turn-around time. In addition to HP-CIL LC-MS which focuses on the analysis of metabolites, we also offer the service of high-coverage lipid analysis using the isotope-standard-assisted In-Depth Global Lipidomics approach. The combined metabolome and lipidome results can reach a total coverage of around 10,000 metabolites and 8,000 lipids (not features). Both platforms generate highly accurate relative quantification results in comparative samples of various types, including urine, feces, serum/plasma, tissue, CSF, sweat, milk, cells, microbiota, plant, food, etc.
