The Proteomics Core assists with the characterization of proteins from a wide range of biological experiments (SDS-PAGE, immuno isolations, whole cell extracts, etc.) by offering access to unique scientific expertise for protein mass spectrometry. The focus of the center is comprehensive characterization of complex protein samples, mapping of post translational modifications, quantitative analysis of protein expression (label and label free) using “bottom up” and “top down” approaches. In addition, the Proteomics Core provides detailed consulting in proteomic experimental design prior to sample production and mass spectrometric analysis to ensure the best possible outcome of any experiment. The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art high-resolution mass spectrometric instrumentation, offering three different types of dissociation techniques for peptide sequencing.
