The NYUCI Experimental Animal and Exposure Core’s integrated Animal Care and Exposure Unit and Inhalation Exposure Unit provide services to support the scientific needs of cancer-related animal research in carcinogenesis models and carcinogen administration.
The Experimental Animal and Exposure Core is a formal satellite facility of the AAALAC-accredited Central Animal Facility and Division of Laboratory Animal Resources at NYUSOM which provides veterinary care supervision and oversight including; facilities, animal care, technical assistance for experiments with rodent species involving delivery of carcinogenic and toxic chemicals, infectious agents, or intervention compounds, using inhalation, systemic, dermal, and oral administration routes of exposure; experimental design and conduct for cancer-related animal studies; segregated housing and health monitoring of animals; necropsy services for animal experiments.
