NYITCOM’s animal facility houses small rodents and zebrafish for research projects covering a range of areas in the biomedical sciences. Housing facilities for general maintenance and necropsy as well as operating theaters, it is staffed by animal care technicians and a veterinarian and is overseen by an Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee that operates in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Student access is limited to students participating in related faculty-led research projects.
