Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Instituto de Fisiologia Celular (National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) Institute of Cellular Physiology) DNA Microarray Unit provides advice and service in this technology to the scientific and technological community of the country.
DNA microarrays are a collection of DNA fragments adhered to a solid surface, with which simultaneous detection of a large number of DNA or RNA sequences for various purposes is possible. Among the main applications of this technology are the characterization of gene expression and the simultaneous detection of strains of pathogenic organisms in products for human consumption.
