The Medical University of Vienna Biobank is an interface between basic and clinical research with the aim of exploring new diagnostic, prognostic, predictive biomarkers, risk markers and therapeutic strategies to allow, and to deepen the understanding of disease etiology and pathogenesis. As a service center at the Medical University of Vienna sees itself with the principles of ""Good Scientific Practice"" and academia committed. Aware that excellence can be achieved in clinical research only with appropriate ethical standards, the information or consent is subject prerequisite for inclusion in a project of the Medical University of Vienna Biobank. In addition, this also means a responsible use of the provided biological material and the privacy of the subjects involved.
