MMRI is an independent, nonprofit medical research institute located in the heart of Silicon Valley, in Sunnyvale, CA. The Institute represents a unique two-part niche in the translation of innovative research findings to human therapeutic need. MMRI maintains a full complement of research scientists pursuing initiatives to further understand disease pathways, while concurrently supporting creation of new biotechnology companies and human therapeutics.

The Institute, with its fully developed research capability, provides a unique environment for the incubation of innovative research-based companies positioned to make the transition to human therapeutic development at substantially lower cost than standalone startups. MMRI’s pursuit of research initiatives to understand intervention points in cancer, autoimmune/inflammatory disease and fibrosis provides the opportunity to benefit from a diversified research environment using a diverse array of research tools and skills.
