The Research Core Facility at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport provides investigators with access to state-of-the-art biomedical technologies. At present, these technologies include flow cytometry and cell sorting, confocal and fluorescence microscopy, laser-capture microdissection, real-time PCR, DNA array (gene chip) analysis, mass spectrometry and small animal imaging. Investigators on this campus may utilize any or all of these technologies on a nominal fee-for-service basis. Investigators associated with other campuses within the LSU system are welcome to use these technologies as well. Other individuals wishing access to theses services, who are associated with universities, hospitals and corporations within the state and region are encouraged to contact us. Each of these technologies is fully supported by a trained research staff and by designated faculty members with appropriate expertise. The Research Core Facility provides assistance with all aspects of these technologies including operation of instrumentation, experimental design and protocols, as well as data analysis and interpretation.
