Lawson Imaging of the Lawson Health Research Institute is a recognized leader in non-invasive biomedical imaging with new developments in hybrid imaging platforms such as PET/CT, SPECT/CT and MR/PET currently being applied to the areas of cardiology, neurology (including mental health), metabolic disease and cancer. Newly-acquired cyclotron and radiochemistry facilities will provide key resources for this research. Also at the forefront of biomedical imaging are the emerging technologies of photoacoustic and optical imaging and optical spectroscopy as well as the investigation and therapeutic application of bioelectromagnetics.

As a world leader using state-of-the-art imaging technology, our research is focused on the development of non-invasive capabilities and diagnostic imaging so that we can better understand the fundamental mechanisms of human biology and enhance the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease.
