The Joint IMB-IMCB Electron Microscopy Suite (JEMS) assists client scientists in use of high resolution ultrastructural imaging for their research. Our dedicated team of experienced microscopy experts and biologists offers complex support for EM projects from consulting on experimental design to sample preparation, microscopy imaging and imaging data processing and analysis. We also provide education and training in electron microscopy methods and instrument operations. Our facility is equipped with advanced scanning (SEM) and transmission electron microscopes (TEM) with high-end digital detectors and uses outstanding EM sample preparation equipment for cryo-processing of various types of biological samples. Besides conventional ultrastructural analysis by SEM and (cryo-)TEM we can also carry out fine structure immuno-cytochemistry, electron tomography for 3D reconstruction of partial cell volumes and correlative light-electron microscopy (CLEM).
