The George Washington University (GW) Nanofabrication and Imaging Center (GWNIC) integrates cutting-edge instrumentation and customized support services for imaging, elemental analysis, materials characterization, measurement and fabrication. In addition to the GW community, GWNIC is available for external academic, industrial and governmental researchers.
Centrally-Located Facilities
GWNIC’s nanofabrication suite and one of its imaging suites are Core Lab Facilities in GW’s new Science and Engineering Hall (SEH), the largest academic building dedicated to these fields in the nation’s capital. GW formally opened SEH, a $275 million, 500,000-square-foot building, on March 4, 2015. GW’s investment in SEH and GWNIC reflect the university’s commitment to fostering innovation through cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Ross Hall, home to GW’s School of Medicine and Health Sciences, houses a second GWNIC imaging suite. Renovated in 2013, this 1,500 square foot facility has its own:

lab bench space
microsurgery lab
biosafety hood
Vibratome for sectioning
cell culture incubator
