MEDINA is a non profit research organization providing a broad porfolio of drug discovery services to large and medium pharma, biotech and academics worldwide. MEDINA has multidisciplinary technology platforms involving high throughput screening, natural product chemistry, analytical tools and bioanalysis, metabolomics, industrial and molecular microbiology, fermentation, and preclinical in vitro ADME tox.

MEDINA owns the largest Collections of Microbial Strains (190.000 strains) and a very diverse Natural Products Libraries (200.000 extracts).

Our team has unique expertise in several disciplines such as:

+ Chemistry: isolation, analysis, dereplication and/or structural elucidation of Natural products.

+ Microbiology: Fermentation scale up and process improvement, microbial identification and diagnosis, search and selection of microorganisms with specific properties or chemistry, genome mining, strain engineering and heterologous expression.

+ High throughput screening (HTS): wide-range of cellular or target based bioassays, designed to discover new active principles with almost any type of assay format and readout. It could be applied on MEDINA´s natural product library, any commercial compound libraries or proprietary libraries of our partners.

+ Bioanalytics and Metabolomics:
a. Early toxicological and pharmacological studies of new drugs and measurement of trace amounts of drugs and Natural Products in biological samples.
b. Targeted and untargeted metabolomics in different human samples (e.g. for biomarker discovery)

+ ADME and Preclinical safety: wide range of in vitro ADME-Tox assays, and in vitro/in vivo Safety/Efficacy studies.
