The purpose of the Machine Shop is to design, engineer and manufacture high-quality parts and equipment in support of scientific research. The shop provides machining services to faculty, graduate students and associated researchers throughout the College of Arts & Sciences and the University.

Location and Equipment

The machine shop occupies one large 1090 sq. ft. room (CP 195) on the ground floor of the Chemistry & Physics building. The shop is equipped with two engine lathes, milling, welding and cutting machines and various other tools. For design and drafting the shop also is also equipped with computers with CAD/CAM software.
