The Histopathology Core is designed to assist DRC investigators in the histopathological characterization of metabolic tissues, such as muscle, liver, fat brain, pancreas, and gut, whose dysfunction can contribute to diabetes. The Core provides basic histological services, specialized immunopathology methods for detection of gene products involved in metabolic processes, histochemical staining and morphometric techniques, as well advanced imaging technologies to document and analyze findings.
