Located on the shore of Lake Matoaka on the William & Mary campus in Williamsburg, Virginia, the Keck Lab provides instructional and research support for Environmental Programs at William & Mary and at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science.
Seminar, lecture, and laboratory courses are taught at the lab during the academic year. During summers, funding organizations including the National Science Foundation, Virginia Environmental Endowment and the Jeffress Trust sponsor directed student research. Student projects are focused on watershed analysis in both scientific and social contexts.
With direct access to Lake Matoaka and the surrounding College Woods, the 5,500 square-foot facility is an academic venue for hands-on investigation of issues within the increasingly complex and interdisciplinary world of environmental studies.
