Company Type:
Academic Core Facility

City of Hope’s Cytogenetics Core Facility provides an array of classic and molecular cytogenetics services, available to Beckman Research Institute researchers, City of Hope clinician researchers, as well as to non-City of Hope investigators.

Core services include cytogenetic analysis of fresh cultured specimen and established cell lines using GTG-banding or Spectral karyotyping (SKY) for human and mouse.
Fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) assays using custom-made project-specific probes or commercially available FISH probes are performed on fresh specimen or formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) specimen material. Interphase or metaphase FISH applications include human or mouse gene insertion projects, copy number classification, and detection of fusion gene rearrangements, gene amplifications or losses.

The Cytogenetics Core Laboratory Research Associates are available to help researchers plan projects, as well as design novel probe combinations and services involving conventional and molecular cytogenetic testing.
