Molecular Profiling Core
Services of the Molecular Profiling Core include consultations for experimental design, project troubleshooting and data analysis; access to instruments; expertise in working with a wide range of DNA and RNA samples; and lab services for extraction, amplification, and detection.
We conduct assays for single nucleotide polymorphisms, copynumber variation, and epigenetic modifications in DNA. RNA profiling includes transcript and exon abundance comparisons, and microRNA detection. Multiplexed protein assays are available on microarrays and bead-capture platforms. All of these assays can be deployed for detection of a single gene, a customized panel of targets, or the entire genome.
The technology platforms available include:
Affymetrix, Agilent, Illumina microarrays
Illumina massively parallel sequencing
Sequenom – custom multiplex DNA and RNA assays
Fluidigm – highly parallel quantitative PCR
AB 7900 TaqMan – high-throughput quantitative PCR
