The Spanish Pharmacoepidemiological Research Center (CEIFE) was created in 1994 as a research center in Madrid. Its aim is the realization of high – quality epidemiological studies on safety and effectiveness of drugs, using automated databases. The main sources of information are four medical databases: Clinical Practice Research Datalink and The Health Improvement Network, both in Britain BIFAP database and database Saskatchewan in Canada.
