CARTaGENE has reached new heights! The Second Wave of recruitement is finished and more than 40,000 men and women have already enrolled in CARTaGENE. Research using the CARTaGENE project will help to provide a better understanding of how our environment, lifestyle and genetic background inherited from our parents are involved in the development of chronic diseases such as diabetes, cancer and heart disease. This could improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, and therefore, contribute to the improvement of the Quebec health system.
