The CDD is a resource for investigators in all Baylor College of Medicine departments and will complement efforts in the Department of Pharmacology, the Gulf Coast Consortia, and the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research as well as other departments and centers at Baylor College of Medicine. The CDD is integral to the Experimental Therapeutics initiative at BCM.
The CDD includes a state-of-the-art screening facility to perform screening for a wide range of cell-based phenotypic and target-based biochemical assays in high-throughput or follow-up screens.
This vital resource will work closely with BCM scientists to develop and perform primary screens. Once assays have been validated with small drug libraries, larger screens can be performed with the help of the Gulf Coast Consortia. Secondary validation assays and additional assays with newly synthesized analogs will also be performed in the center.
