OpGen is focused on delivering innovative solutions to rapid molecular detection of severe infectious diseases that help guide clinicians with actionable information about life threatening infections to improve patient outcomes and support infection prevention and control and antibiotic stewardship. As part of its genomics offering, ARES isolate sequencing service (ARESiss) is available through the OpGen lab in Rockville, Maryland, USA and the ARES lab in Vienna, Austria.
In addition, ARES offers a 16S/ITS amplicon metagenomic sequencing solution (ARESid) for pathogen identification and a culture-free universal pathogenome assay (ARESupa) for comprehensive AMR marker screening of native patient and environmental samples. Sequence characterization supports outbreak analysis, surveillance, and infection prevention and control.
To enable labs globally with bioinformatics tools to analyze microbial genomes, OpGen offers AREScloud, a user-friendly web application for AMR surveillance and outbreak analysis, powered by ARESdb. ARESdb is a proprietary AMR reference database comprised of microbial sequences with annotated AMR biomarkers that cover resistance genes and mutations, and it includes matching phenotypic AST data. This enables the AI-powered prediction of phenotypic resistance (predictive AST) directly from genome data.
