The type of POCT performed depends on the clinical needs of that specific area and includes waived and non-waived POCTs such as bedside glucose, blood gases, electrolytes, activated clotting time, creatinine, fecal occult blood, urinalysis, streptococcus, hemoglobin and hemoglobin A1C.
