Daping Hospital ＆ Research Institute of Surgery, a comprehensive medical institution combining a large general hospital with a special research institute, consists of high academic and skilled professionals headed by the academician Wang Zheng-guo, and advanced research platform represented by one national key laboratory of trauma, burn and combined injury. In light of several decades’ development of the hospital and endeavors by the faculties, our hospital has gradually formed such research fields as basic research on trauma and its application, traffic medicine, comprehensive treatments of severe multiple injuries, basic and clinical research on hypertension, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and metabolic diseases, DNA damage and repair of tumor molecules, tissue engineered skin and first-aid equipments, etc.

　　 We have undertaken many scientific research projects including National “973” Program, National “863” Program, Scientific and Technological Support Programs, and the National Natural Science Foundation of the major and key projects, awarded a lot of achievements such as the first prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress, and meanwhile had a series of high-level research papers published. So far we have established good cooperative relationships with many institutes in USA, UK, Germany and Canada.
