AIT stands as Austria’s premier applied non-university research institute. Within AIT, the Molecular Diagnostics unit specializes in cutting-edge non- and minimally invasive diagnostics. Our contract research services encompass transcriptomics, epigenetics, proteomics and immunomics. Expertise spans biomarker discovery, assay design, validation, and bioinformatics. We excel in tailored analysis, multiplexed testing with minimal clinical specimens, established workflows, and custom assay development for clients’ platforms. Moreover, we provide human in vitro models of biological barriers (e.g., blood-brain barrier) to study drugs, drug delivery systems, toxins, species differences and diseases (e.g. neurodevelopmental, stroke, TBI, Alzheimer disease, etc.). On the diagnostic hardware side, we develop innovative biosensors and point-of-care tools and provide our expertise and solutions for contract research and development.
