Aiforia is a cloud-based image analysis platform for analysing whole slide images. We focus on digital pathology, but our platform is also suitable for analysing any digital microscopy images.

Our platform’s image analysis algorithms are based on deep learning technology. The versatility of the deep learning algorithms enables us to perform a wide range of image analysis tasks. These include, to name but a few, object identification and counting, biomarker quantification, segmentation, area and distance measurements, regression-based calculation, and spacial distribution analysis. To provide some concrete application examples, the solution has been used for dopamine neuron counting, malaria parasite detection from blood, cancer screening, and several toxicological applications in pharmaceutical research.

What separates us from the rest of the flock is the ease of use of our solution. We have developed advanced annotation tools to to make the use of our platform as simple as possible. The annotation tools are used to label regions of interest from the images. In the next stage of the analysis pipeline, the annotations and images are fed to the algorithms, which analyse the images automatically. The platform is so easy to use that a person with no data science background can complete the entire image analysis project on her own.

Our platform is currently used by several world-leading research universities and big pharma companies. Novel scientific findings made using our platform have been published in e.g. the European Journal of Neuroscience.
